Our Protection During The No Buy/No Sell Decree
The Unseen Consequences of Digital Exclusion
In an increasingly digital world, the concept of ‘credentials’ has taken on a new meaning. No longer confined to physical identification cards or documents, credentials now encompass a wide range of digital data - from biometric information to online profiles. This shift has significant implications for everyday activities, including something as simple as buying groceries.

The Incident
Recently, an incident occurred that starkly highlighted the potential downsides of this digital transformation. A customer walked into a store, picked up their items, and approached the checkout counter, ready to make their purchase. However, they were denied service because a scan revealed they lacked the ‘proper credentials’.

The Implications
This incident raises several important questions about privacy, discrimination, and the role of technology in our lives. The customer was excluded from a basic service - buying groceries - because their digital data did not meet certain criteria. This is a form of digital exclusion, where individuals are denied access to services because they do not possess, or choose not to share, certain digital credentials.

The Bigger Picture
The incident is not an isolated one. It reflects a growing trend where digital credentials are becoming a prerequisite for accessing basic services. This can lead to a form of discrimination, where those without the necessary digital footprint are excluded.

Believing in God’s Promises of Protection
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
This passage is part of the vision of the Apostle John, where he describes a beast that rises from the sea, symbolizing a worldly power. The beast causes everyone, regardless of their social status or wealth, to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead. This mark represents an acquiescence in character and action to the principles of this tyrannical world-power. The right hand symbolizes toil and social intercourse, while the forehead represents character
The passage further states that no one could buy or sell unless they had this mark, the name of the beast, or the number of his name. This suggests a form of social and economic control exerted by this beast, where those who do not conform to its principles are excluded from society.
Just as God marks his people with his seal (see Revelation 7:3), the beast marks his people. However, it’s important to interpret these symbols spiritually rather than literally. The mark of the beast, therefore, could be understood as the visible expression of the character of those who are worldly, in contrast to those who bear the seal of God, representing those who are godly.
God's Promise
In times of trouble, it is natural to seek solace and comfort. For many, this comfort comes from their faith in God and His promises of protection. The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, is filled with scriptures that speak of God’s protection, provision of food and shelter, and His unwavering support during times of persecution. Here are seven such scriptures:
Psalms 91:1-16: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” This scripture speaks of God as a refuge, a place of safety and protection.
2 Thessalonians 3:3: “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” Here, the scripture reassures us of God’s faithfulness and His promise to keep us safe from harm.
Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.” This scripture emphasizes God’s promise of protection against any harm that may come our way.
1 Timothy 6:8: “If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.” This scripture reminds us of God’s promise to provide for our basic needs.
Psalms 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” This scripture reassures us of God’s constant presence and help during times of trouble.
2 Timothy 3:12: “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” This scripture acknowledges the reality of persecution but also implies the promise of God’s protection.
Matthew 5:10: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” This scripture offers comfort and hope during times of persecution, promising the ultimate reward of the kingdom of heaven.
Believing in these promises can provide immense comfort and strength during times of trouble. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles and that there is a higher power watching over us, ready to provide protection, sustenance, and comfort. So, let us hold fast to these promises and face our troubles with faith and courage, knowing that God is with us every step of the way.
